I know we've been having a lot of issues with the stats,  I believe we finally have it working with no problems.  It has been updating automatically every 30 minutes without fail for the past few hours.

Variety Map Pack sponsored by NVIDIA hits PC June 5th

Great news! Heads up that the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack sponsored by NVIDIA will be available worldwide for our PC players next week on June 5th!

NVIDIA is making it possible for PC players to download the map pack for Free on the PC thanks to their sponsorship. In addition, expect to see quite a few promotions popping up leading up to the launch of the map packs on the 5th and beyond. I know NVIDIA has a lot of great things planned for PC users in addition to maps becoming available.

There’s going to be some PC specific previews going up online this weekend I believe that will cover how well the maps play on the PC version as well as some contests and promotions happening all next week. I’ll be posting up details on them as they get started all this week!

The Variety Map Pack includes four new maps for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer including Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse, and Creek.

In addition to the map pack hitting, PC Players will be receiving the 1.6 Patch for the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that will add support for the new maps, fix a server crash exploit recently reported by the community, and a few additional features / bug fixes. I will post a full patch notes list next week.

 Finally after what seems like months and months...wait...it has been that long..Infinity Ward has some word on the map pack for PC players. Fourzerotwo has let us know through his blog that the map pack will be released on Thursday June, 5th. In other words that's in ONE WEEK from now.


 

The map pack is being released at no extra charge to PC users thanks to the sponsorship of Nvidia. Nvidia will apparently also be running a few promotions leading up to the release of the map pack as well as beyond that so look for the news on that here as well as it becomes available. The map pack will consist of the four maps which were already released to Xbox and PS3 users; Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse, and Creek.


 

So PC users get ready to snipe, shoot, stab and nade your way through these exciting maps. Hopefully this will satiate everyone's thirst for more maps, more multiplayer carnage and more multiplayer killing!!!

In relation to the newest patch coming out (1.6), this will also be released on June 5th, with the map pack for PC users. This upcoming patch will address a server crash exploit as well as a few new features and bug fixes. Watch for the full list on these fixes here once they become available to us.

We want to give back to our dedicated gamers!  4 players every month will receive a reserved slot for their performance from the previous month.

Here are the 4 ways the Reserved Slot winners are chosen:
1-2.  The top 2 donators for the previous month.
3.  The #1 ranked player at the end of the previous month.
4.  The MVP as chosen by the 6FR Commissioned Officers.

The MVP will be chosen based on activity (Whats the point of giving someone a reserved slot if they never play, right?), personality (Sorry, douche bags aren't going to win shit), and performance (completing in-game objectives, team player, etc).

But, you cannot be eligible for any of these unless you are registered on our forums! So make sure to register today!

The winners will be given a password and instructions on how to use their reserved slot.  Giving out the reserved slot password will lead to permanent ban from all of our servers, so don't tell anyone!

We apologize that our old stats program did a pretty half ass job.  It wasn't a bad program but it was much more complicated than it needed to be, so we set out for a new stat program, and we found one!

The new stats program does everything our old one did, but better.  It provides detailed information, even breaking down stats by each individual round played, logging all the kills, all the chat...EVERYTHING!

We hope everyone enjoys the new stats,  right now it seems to be working perfect, but we'll monitor it over the next few days to make sure it's working as intended.

Remember, these stats will be what we go by to award Medals, or even Reserved slots in the future!  So make sure to keep track of how well you're doing!

So Wick and I have been throwing around a few ideas.  We're considering adding 2-4 new slots on our Sabotage servers and using them as reserved slots to reward the gamers on our server.

Now how do you earn a reserved slot?  Good question.

The ideas we're throwing around at the moment:

• #1 ranked player from the previous month.
• Person/people who donated the most money the previous month.
• MVP for the previous month as determined by a vote.

These rewards are available for ALL people who play on our servers.  If you have any suggestions as to other ways to earn a reserved slot, feel free to tell us!  And don't forget to vote to let us know what you think!

Due to an already over populated Sabotage server, we think it would be a good time to add another one with summer coming up soon!

FAQ

Q - What are the requirements to join [6FR]?

A - 1. We require that you are at least 17 years of age.

      2. Spend at least one half hour per week participating on the forums.

      3. Play when you have time.

Q - Can I keep my same name?

A - In short, yes you can! Although we recommend using a realistic name surname, [6FR] allows any name as long as it has your rank and [6FR] tag in it. COD4 only allows 15 characters so use them wisely. Once you choose an in game name you can not change it without the approval of your CO.

Q - What if I can’t ever devote 1 hour a week to your clan?

A - Then you cannot become a member of [6FR]. You probably have a lot going on in your personal life and that is ok. Just check back with us at a later date when you have more free time to play.

Q - What if something comes up and I have to be away for a period of time?

A - All you have to do is put in a Leave of Request form and let us know the dates you will be gone. If you need more time then just fill out a new one with the new dates, that’s it!

Q - How will I know if [6FR] is right for me?

A- Well first of all, we allow all applicants and recruits the use of our vent server and all of the forums except the CO’s. We encourage all new applicants and recruits to use ventrilo. This makes it easier to get to know all the people in the [6FR] clan and really see if you will fit in here. If at any time you don’t think this is the clan for you, then just send a pm to your CO and we will release your contract with no hard feelings.

Q - I see you use the demerit system, how does that work?

A - If you do not follow the rules (see requirements 2 & 3 above) of [6FR] then you will receive a demerit. The first demerit is a warning, second is a demotion, and the third is an instant removel from the [6FR] clan. The reason we have rules is so we can keep track of people and see who is active.

Q - Can I be a member of another guild/clan/squad and still join [6FR]?

A - If the clan you are in is not COD4 related then yes you can. But it should be noted if you fail to participate in [6FR] then you will have to quit one.

Q - What should I do if someone is causing problems in [6FR] servers?

A - As an applicant or recruit you will have all the access you need to contact an admin or your CO. Check vent first, and then send a pm to your CO if you can’t find anyone. Hopefully you will be able to give the details needed to handle the situation (i. e. name of server where event took place, time, and the exact spelling of the person if he/she is not online any more). Do not post in the Court Martial thread.

Q - If I’m accepted do I have to pay $5.00 a month?

A - No, we understand not everyone will be able to donate all the time. We must remember that someone has to pay for the kick ass servers.

YES! I said it!

For those of you tired of playing the same stock maps every night we have some exciting news. Game developer Infinity Ward is on the cusp of releasing a new map pack with FOUR, yes I said four, new maps.


 

The first of these maps is called Broadcast and is taken from one of the missions in the single player side of the game. You will recognize the tv station from that mission in which you had to assault the enemy but you won't recognize what's inside of it. From the multi-pathed main level leading into the large main room filled with cubicles to the small hallways leading upstairs to the second floor, packed with even more hallways and rooms, all the way up to the roof, you can bet there will be firefights waiting around every corner.

For those of you afraid of the sometimes constant barrage of airstrikes and helicopter attacks you will find some reprieve from these as most of the action on this map will take place inside the building. Don't get too cozy as you will still be vulnerable outside on the ground level and up on the roof.


 

The next map which is completely new is called Creek. This is a large outdoor map with a few houses located on one side of it. Cutting through the middle of the map is a ravine with the "Creek" running right along it's bottom. There's also a large cave at some point leading out of the ravine. With all these levels and undergrowth abounding this map will be a snipers delight. Don't worry though, it's still large enough to run and gun across the rest of the map for you non-snipers.

The other two maps being released have not had screenshots released of them so we can't show you them yet. The third map is called Chinatown so expect something along that vein of reference for what the map will look like. The final map is called Killhouse and may resemble the training level from the start of the single player game.

The map pack will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 for an unspecified price (yes there is a cost as with most new game addons these days). For those of us on PC we'll have to wait for Infinity Ward to decide how the map pack will be distributed and if we'll be paying for it (although I'm leaning towards us having to). This is the release of the v1.3 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare™ patch by Infinity Ward.

This patch addresses the issue reported by community member Uzi Kidding which now catches some files bypassing the pure client test. In addition this update will set properties so that Anti-lag is always enabled upon map loads, an optimization for Sniper Rifle accuracty at certain distances, as well a fix so text chat between rounds of multiplayer will no longer cut out at the end.
